About Catherine

Catherine Davidson is a highly experienced commercial mediator, practising in Australia and internationally. Over the course of her career, she has mediated more than 1,200 complex civil and commercial disputes, helping parties find resolution in matters ranging from business partnerships and commercial contracts to workplace conflict and class actions.

Catherine is nationally accredited under the Australian Mediation Development and Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS), and is certified by both the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI). She is appointed to a number of national and international mediation panels, including the Abu Dhabi Global Markets Arbitration Centre Panel of Mediators, the SIMI Mediator Panel, and the Australian Disputes Centre Mediator Panel.

Catherine began her career as a lawyer, practising in commercial dispute resolution with Blake Dawson in Sydney and Denton Wilde Sapte in London. Her years working on complex and protracted litigation convinced her that there is a more constructive and human way to resolve disputes — one that prioritises clarity, communication, and forward movement.

Beyond legal practice, Catherine also worked in the government and financial services sectors with Cosway Communication, a strategic communications consultancy. There, she developed a broader perspective on conflict and communication, strengthening the practical and relational skills that now underpin her mediation work.

Today, Catherine combines legal insight with commercial pragmatism and a deep belief in the value of dialogue. She is known for her calm presence, her structured yet flexible approach, and her commitment to helping people move through conflict with confidence and clarity.
